
You probably heard of the Big Mac index - the price of Big Macs all over the world to determine the standard of living in that area. Well, a new study took that one step further and
determines domestic purchasing power from Big Mac's:
American cities also did well on the burger-scale with cities that ranked highly including Los Angeles (11 minutes), Chicago and Miami (12 minutes) and New York (13 minutes).
Toronto ranked with Auckland and Sydney at 14 minutes, followed by Zurich and Dublin at 15 minutes, in the calculations which divided the price of the burger by a weighted average of net hourly pay across 14 occupations.
Pre-taxed, presumably. This means I can eat like, 4 Big Mac's an hour and still make a little money at work! Supersize me now!
