Remember when you were a kid, you were taught to skim stones over random lakes and ponds? The trick is to spin a flat piece of rock very well at about a 20 degree angle for optimal bounces. The Guinness Book of Records marks 40 skips as the world record.
Since there are things as exciting as rock-paper-scissor championships, you wouldn't be surprised to find there's also a championship in stone skimming (or Duck and Drakes in some areas) held at Easdale Island, Scotland every year. Each competitor is given 5 skims, but each toss is judged on the distance rather than the number of bounces - with the condition that it must bounce at least three times.
The winner last year hit the upper limit of 63 meters (twice), but if you think you got game, it's on!
